In this article the peculiarities of services in the field of economic security by the example of security services are examined, author’s definition of security services is given, analysis of security services peculiarities is performed. The specificity of security services is analyzed through their variety according to various characteristics, the author classifies the security services on the market today. The specialty of the modern market of security services is competition, which is considered from the view-point of the peculiarities of these services.
