In given works the evolution of theories of foreign direct investment is described. In addition, the results of research about a theoretical approach that considers the theory of foreign direct investment (FDI) from the position of an integrated understanding of their nature. This approach should be based on such theories and models, as the eclectic paradigm of Dunning J., internalization theory, the theory of «flying geese» and the theory of competitive advantage Porter.
