In this article, the author analysis of the sectoral structure of the economy of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra was made. The reasons of decline of oil production in the region and the possible implications for oil and gas one-company town were specified. There were proposed the measures to diversify and modernize of the economy of the oil one-company town.
