The economic crisis of 2007–2009 and its influence on the goods road  transport labour market. A case of Poland

The paper focuses on the situation regarding the professional truck drivers' labour market in the period of economic crisis of 2007-2009 in Poland. A discussion on determinants impacting the supply and demand for truck drivers in light of recent regulatory changes on access to the profession of this specific group of employees was carried out. We analysed the state of the art of the Polish goods road transport industry and the changes of legal conditions of access to the profession of goods vehicle drivers. Deteriorating situation of the professional truck drivers on the labour market was supported by statistical data.
