The article describes the features of the dynamics of socio-economic development of the regions of France and the Canadian province of Quebec and in the next to the post-crisis period. The test area is divided into groups according to the level of the gross regional product. On this basis, identified the region most heavily affected by the global financial and economic crisis in 2008.
